Haiku Kukai 2

pads and helmets
a hundred degrees and a thousand up downs
two-a-days

corn tassels swaying
high overhead
reminders to slow at crossroads

lightning flashes
in the hot summer night
     trees begin hissing

Summer in Illinois
when
will the sun set

hot asphalt
hesitation
a squirrel's final thought

morning shower
under the willow teee
we cherish . . . our last time

jet ski
blue and orange keys
hold on

the ball drops
the countdown begins
resolutions

Finding Dory
seven times a day
just to please the kid

ADRENALINE
The BIG Reveal
smile anyway

panting and deep breaths
the climax arrives
love at first sight

table set up
for pong ball
splash

my little boy
a man of courage and honor
blood stripe

morning coffee
family still asleep
my alone time

stalking a mini van
all over town
for a free movie

rippling water
underneath my kayak
sunrise over the horizon

measured twice
cut once
it’s still too short
