Haiku

by

moonlight, crickets
fireflies light up
a glass jar

band-aids and kisses
don't make it
all better

her only friend
worn and torn
she whispers in an ear

hand in hand we go
he walks
I skip

mascot fading
on a navy blue hoodie
infused with scents of you

I am the tree
that fell
in the forest

tarnished lockett
on a tangled chain
I daydream

she stares at the ceiling
as the moon sits high
no pillow talk
