blonde brunette or even red
years pass and grey
is all you see

2

a safe place that’s yours
whether it be brick stick or straw
what you seek through all

through the trees
sunlight shines through some
hoping for a clearing

once you put your hands on me

on a sunny day
stomach says bad choice

11

mice
run the maze
stimulation or real life?

12

blood pumping
strapped in
up and down we go

13

sloppy kisses and bruised knees
little offspring
my favorite people

14

cloudy night
loud noises keep me up
puppy comes whining

15

feast for thirty
hurry to get in line
only two swings available

16

the first appointment
I heard your heartbeat
right then I knew . . .

17

alone with my
thoughts
don’t know what to do

sparkling eyes
butterflies
first kiss

28

new hair color
old thoughts
wrapped around my head

29

holding hands
walking her
to another man’s house

30

riding home on the bus
telling everyone to meet at my house
afterschool kickball

31

Marlboro red kisses
passed back and forth
she's a cowboy killer

32

stars on a calm night
some move and some stand still
people flying up as well

33

underneath the Friday night lights
cheering and yelling into the home crowd
my last high school football game

34

old 90’s rock
blaring through the house
you know what time it is

35

sleeping more
cleaning less
the cycle starts again

36

woke up late
cold shower
soap in my eyes

37

hair dye
mixed with tears
runs down my face

38

my dog's tail
bounces
I rub her belly

39

she lies
for the last time
goodbye old friend

40

feeling tight
running till the sun sets
it's all worth the fight, right?

41

three dots . . .
       she waits for a response
they disappear

42

she leaves for work
I can still smell the cologne
on her sheets

43

hand
games
miss mary mack

44

the heartache
and longingness
for a ghost

45

new beats
more lines to make you see
what you hear through my teeth
