A Moment in Time
Haiku

by
Alec LeFeur

My haiku reflects different moments in time in my life. Some haiku are from childhood, my teen years, and adulthood. I enjoy reading my haiku and remembering times I cherish. I selected these haiku for my collection as I feel closest to the memories associated with each one. I hope that you enjoy my haiku as much as I have.

         Noon Beach

summer noon
hits my face
with pulsating heat

         on the beach
         water cools my toes

ocean breeze
building sandcastles
surfers riding high

         volleyball
         in my bare feet

laying on the beach
seagulls overhead
waves crashing in

         tide coming
         a pink sunset

         Sunday Afternoon

summer breeze
cloudless sky
Sunday afternoon

         Sheridan road
         winding curves

coffee shop
many conversations
caffeine boost

soft music
warm conversations

         outdoor patio
         many friends

champagne brunch
priceless treasurers
moments in time

George, Jamie, and Alec

         A Country Visit

flowers blooming
fragrant air
birds are singing

         laundry on the line
         bees busy

homemade pie in the window
sizzling sound from the skillet
corn is husked

         crisp white linens
         table is set

moisture forming on the glasses
conversations of many
laughter

         thankfulness
         dawn turns to darkness

                  Alec & Jamie

grilling out
fresh squeeze lemonade
a pink sunset

raindrops on brick streets
our horse and carriage

waves rolling against the boat
the big dipper
champagne

cocktails on a penthouse terrace
the limo waits below

jack-o-lantern on the porch
candle burning inside
children at the door
