This is a collection of my favorite haiku written while attending Millikin University. Learning Haiku has been a rewarding experience of seeing how nature and people come together in haiku writing. Dr Randy Brooks helps to bring his passion for haiku to all the students. I would like to thank my classmates and my wife who were the readers of my haiku. I hope you enjoy reading my haiku as much as I did writing them.

                       moonshine
Saturday night                   in a mason jar

 

warm afternoon
lime-topped bottle
Siesta

standing in the water
cast the rod
deep             exhale

  

sand in my eyes         enemy or friend

in a house
with no power
sex heats the room

 

the wind up      the pitch
just rimming
the trash can

pitching
           the right way
to the lefty

  

Fourth of July

mid Summer
fireworks
every where

painting faces
carnival rides

a fireman
rests
by his truck

the nighttime
brings out the dark

the smell rises
apple pie
in the window

the sky lights up
colors fill the air.
