Haiku Attempts 1 - Project Haiku

PACE Global Haiku to Edit 1, January 2007

street lights on
we all sat down
on the porch steps

street light blinks on
all the kids sit
on the porch steps

neighborhood kids
on the porch step
street light flickers on

third of July
sipping lemon shakeups
beside the campfire

fourth of July
lemon shakeups
around the campfire

tin pans blowing in the breeze
rich black dirt
harvest

tin pans
rattle in the garden—
rich black dirt

greeted at the door
friendly
the feeling of being at home

salesman's grin
opening the door for me
the new bikes

warm spring morning
humming of the microwave
the kids come running

riding my bike
home from Bible school
summer evenings

summer evening
riding my bike home
from Bible school

warm summer nights
the trucks appeared
and fog filled the air

focused
the stairs
row of bicycles

through double doors
down the stairs
row of bicycles

through the front door
down the stairs
row of bicycles
