When writing haiku, I wanted to focus on areas of my life that impact me the most—from a little girl to being proposed to. We all can live life day to day without any thought, but when you think of all the wonderful things around you, and all of the people who have impacted your life, you should look back and enjoy the memories that you have collected. As I reach adulthood, I look back on my childhood and smile at all the great memories I have collected with my friends and family.

new day
sun in my face
clear ocean breeze

waiting on the porch
excited for romance
shattered
"April's Fool"

quilt of color
warm underneath
with the dog at my feet

windows open
fresh air
brings the children to life
