A collection of Haiku

by

I'd like to thank my father for his constant support & encouragement. I'd like to thank Dr. Brooks for his guidance and patience. I'd like to thank my reading group for all their helpful insights. I'd like to thank the entire haiku class for Spring 2005 for constant inspiration.

a girl hunched over snow
she laughs as her small brother
touches the yellow spot

spring break
escaping to Florida
in my thoughts

spring break
no one
on instant messenger

midnight stars
I stop counting
with your kiss

fireworks
summer love
always finds me

best friend
dangling from tree limbs
no cooties

storytelling upon the green carpet
it was magic
at the time

filthy jersey
softball diamond
a girl's best friend

our own village
rampaging Hot Wheels
through grandma's garden
