I paired these two together because of the tortured feeling both of these entail. The first accentuates the awaiting torture of a human, and the second portrays the current pain of the chair’s perspective. Both have a looming sense of claustrophobia that makes the reader very uncomfortable and anxious. After I read these haiku I just wanted to bounce around because of how constrained they both made me feel. I really liked how effective both of these haiku were. —Jamie
