pink and black

by
Lorin Glazer

The title “They know me by pink and black” of this collection is a very personal and meaningful. I am known to love pink and black, many people know that. Everything I own is mainly all black, pink or both. People can see this because it’s on the outside. You can physically see the love I have for these colors.

This is similar when it comes to my personality as well.
At Millikin, people mainly know me by externals. I generally don’t let fellow classmates get to know me in a deeper sense. These haiku come from with in, as well as from my personal experiences. It gives the reader a taste of what I am really like on the inside, as well as what I care about and carish in my life.

Enjoy

I learn to ride

sore shoulder blades
12 feet of snow
child's chore

warm licks
on my face
puppy love

tie-dyes and dreads
the band in her room
surrounded by nag champa

another tipsy night
bar smoke in her hair
walk of shame

she shakes
in the box
…on her way to her new home
