Random Thoughts from an Artistic Mind

by
Erin Knott

Author's Introduction:

For this collection of haiku, I selected what I felt were my best haiku. That made the selection fairly random, but I enjoy the different selection of topics throughout the collection. I enjoyed learning to write and read haiku throughout the year and I feel that I will continue to have an interest in haiku. Enjoy —Erin Knott

Readers Introduction:

When reading haiku written by Erin Knott, I am able to see the emotion in her work. It makes me feel a little bit of everything. I enjoy feeling this emotion. —Heather Fehl

frozen pond
we hold hands
as we skate into the
sunset

the petals fall
I close my eyes
and wish for a happy ending

summer night
I walk home alone
and long for your hand to hold

barefoot
in the grass
we talk about everything

staring
at the notes we wrote
as they burn

he tries to run
I wish we could
roam free together

tumbling
down the hill
who cares if we're late?

icy sidewalks
I see beauty
as I fall
