Thoughts

by
Lyndz Lemanczyk

To graduate I needed one more English course. Global Haiku was the only class available to fit my schedule. I had no idea what haiku was. Then when I heard it was a form of poetry, I was terrified. After taking this course, I only enjoy this type of poetry. Haiku was a means of release for me. I had no idea that I had these thoughts or even was capable of writing them. I only wish I would have applied myself more.

I am your best friend
now and always, and especially
when I get caught

from Gomer's Haiku

pug

rain falls
we hide in the shed
to catch our breath

soaking wet
the couple finds peace
in the rain

brick by brick
she rebuilds the wall
around her heart

child's joy
a simple
drop of rain

he waits . . .
to say good bye
one last time
