Summer Rain

Summer Rain

hot sun
forfeits its warmth
to summer rain

CG

clouds in July
form a face

CH

lightning
stabbing through
the heart

SD

aftermath of the storm
reveals a rainbow

KM

colors dim
fireflies twinkle
in the moonlight

CG

stars mirrored
in the glassy lake

CH

ripples
two silhouettes
break the surface

SD

a whole new world
sang the mermaids

KM

mystical sounds
allure the animals
out from hiding

CG

forest mist glows
in the morning sun

CH

blood pounding
the hunter
waits

SD

woodland animals
plot against the hunter

KM

a rifle shot
awakens the girl
during full moon

CG

grimy streets
leaves crunch underfoot

CH

clean morning air
polluted
by burning leaves

SD

one match forgotten
sets town a blaze

KM

covered in ashes
one cherry blossom
blows away

CG

dead town
the phoenix reborn

CH

flying
the strong wind
biting cold

SD

falls victim to the freezing
ice storm

KM

icicles fall
from the cabin roof
piercing the snow mounds

CG

below melting snow
a flash of green

CH

tender leaves
struggle
to break free

SD

march showers
bring about the floods

KM

the puddles offer
splashes
under boots

CG

pink umbrella
lost in the crowd

CH

little girl
puddles splash
with tears

SD

she kicks up dirt clouds
with polka dot rain boots

KM

moon rising
like a polka dot
in the sky

CG

back porch viewing
a shooting star

CH

summer wind
through the trees
tent in the back yard

SD

burning campfire attracts
a grizzly bear

KM

embers glow
and the smoke
slows down

CG

trail of fire
in the wintry sky

CH

snowflakes cover
fallen
cherry blossoms

SD

never ending
life cycle
