Jubilant Expedition

Over this semester, I have developed quite the appreciation for haiku. The art of writing haiku is simple, yet complicated. It’s descriptive, yet short. The way haiku can set a whole scene in just a few short lines is amazing. I am very thankful for the opportunity to take this class and for the growth as a haiku writer.

white dress and black tux
forever
sealed with a kiss

father's encouraging hand
guiding the bike's seat
scabbed knees

running with the bulls
quickly escaping
last day of school

we all watch him walk by
lowering our shades
what a hunk

Valentine's Day
he's on the prowl
looking for a good time

let it all go
He will hear
balloons drift to the sky
