Cor van den Heuvel's Haiku

Senses

by
Matt Eichhorn

When I went through my haiku and chose my favorites, it wasn’t hard to pick them. A major theme in all of my haiku has something to do with one of our five senses, so I named my collection "Senses". My haiku are mostly about women, baseball and my childhood, because that’s where my heart is, and it’s easy to write with your heart.

I feel that I grew as a haiku writer throughout the year. I started using more visual words and phrases to create a vivid picture for the readers. I really enjoyed taking this class, and I want to thank all of my classmates. It was an honor working with you!
