MY LIFE
Selected Haiku

by
Stephanie Ford

Writing haiku was an entirely new experience for me. I often found it difficult to express a thought or feeling that was in my head. As I wrote my haiku, I found something common among all of them—they all had to do with my life. Thus, my collection is entitled, "My Life." As I think about my life, I think about my priorities—those things that are most important to me. My top three priorities which are reflected in my haiku are my faith, my family and love.

My signature haiku is:

          nail scarred hands
          crown of thorns
          true love

a knock on my door
not a word spoken
arms of comfort

walking down the aisle
he’s standing there
I wake up

sitting on
moonlit water
     his arms around me

wilting peace lily
her heart
breaking
