Woppy-Soppy

Turtle Shell Sun

lavendar petals
pressed against
soaked concrete

bring happiness
painting the ground

they bond
over
painted nails

the ice breaks
friendship is born

message on the window
from
her breath

secrets passed
time well spent

what ifs
spreading
like the plague

pulling you closer
toward the black hole

searching
for some sort
of answer

wisdom like
a grandfather tortoise

dew drops
glisten in
dawn's sun

smiling daffodils
stretch in the thaw

fresh flowers
hastily strewn
upon the table

creating an orbit
around week old chinese

moonlight reveals
an empty
ring finger

a hint of what was
remains

concentration fails her
as warm sun
runs through her blood

waves crash
with excitement

papers
flood her desk—
the final stretch

her heart burns
for an escape

one letter
making or breaking
her career

she takes a leap
of faith

sand between her toes
she sighs—
vacation

sun sets
she spreads her wings
