a cold rainy day
the ring sliding on my finger
fills me with warmth

Quiet rainfall—
          I stare at the ceiling
          my mind unable to rest

red dress hangs in closet
brand new and unworn . . .
stood up for homecoming

calm silent river
nobody stops to sit
at the quiet village

pickles in a sipper
sitting on the windowsill
two stories off the ground
