baking
your famous
chocolate chip cookies
still not as good
as yours . . .

2

frame of pressed flowers
hanging on my wall . . .
a careful record
of your love
across the years

3

orange bottles
everywhere
a reminder
my normal is never
coming back

4

pink circus glass
once filled
with butterscotch candies
now shrouded with
sentimentality

5

fresh green grass
growing above you
showing just
how much time
has passed

6

my favorite snow globe
water clouded
with years past
the chime of für elise
brings them all back

7

diffusing lavender
balance and serenity
natural remedies
might finally
heal me

8

life of a poet
raising a few
choice
words
in the garden

9

fidgeting with
my favourite ring
I’ve since
            bent
out of shape

10

breakfast
crafted by
a mother’s
loving hands
in an unfamiliar home

11

early riser
for coffee drives
with mom
the ripple effect
of one free drink

12

the beginning
or the end
of a rope
depends on which
way you’re headed

13

he stood above the clouds
blocking out the horizon
as the sun went down
a fragile little man
is sitting in his place

14

I save
every card
she sends me
the love of my life
in one shoebox

15

in a line
with the kids
for a water slide
the fear
of missing out

16

watching you on repeat
the tape has finally stuck
an 80 year long marathon
ending.
with a whisper

17

wiping the lens
of my glasses
my brother tells
me to stop
crying

18

college “show and tell”
the silver airplane pin
my father gave me
I choke back tears
in front of classmates

19

cake topper
from my third birthday
a glittery pink carriage
all these years and I
refuse to give it away

20

small baggie of
colorful pop tabs
you gave me
do I save them just because
I like the colors?

21

hanging
my favorite sweater
to dry
I keep putting off
returning it to you
