peppermint tea
warmth seeps down
down my core

Sav Stringer

This Haiku gave me a warm and homey feeling. I can smell and feel hot peppermint  tea. It reminds me of a cold winter or fall day and the sensation of the warm tea has brought you back to life opening up your pores warming you back up. Semmieon Brandon, Spring 2025

nursing home bed

This can bring up a lot of different concepts to different people (as we found out in class today), which is something I think a good haiku should do. It allows us to relate to it while also questioning how another person might take this up in their own life. The two descriptors — a bed and dresser — set the stage for a tragic ending line but a perfect pause after the first line. Eden Niebrugge, Spring 2025
