1 peppermint tea Sav Stringer This Haiku gave me a warm and homey feeling. I can smell and feel hot peppermint tea. It reminds me of a cold winter or fall day and the sensation of the warm tea has brought you back to life opening up your pores warming you back up. Semmieon Brandon, Spring 2025 |

5 nursing home bed Jim Wilkerson This can bring up a lot of different concepts to different people (as we found out in class today), which is something I think a good haiku should do. It allows us to relate to it while also questioning how another person might take this up in their own life. The two descriptors — a bed and dresser — set the stage for a tragic ending line but a perfect pause after the first line. Eden Niebrugge, Spring 2025 |
