1

a lone streetlight
even the wind
passes without a name

2

two hawks glide
in a blue sky
there is nothing else

3

east to west
cries and howls
to the same moon

4

dogs in a sprint
to the swaying oak
squirrel stares down

5

fallen petals
drift on the water,
not asking why

6

moonlit rooftops
where my shadow
walks without me

7

mark me with ash
I remember
my mortality

8

a crow
lands on my forehead
leaving a shadow

9

last day of winter
a Frisbee lands
on our picnic

10

thrift store
a stranger’s memories
for only a dollar

11

live stream
a stranger talks to me
from across the world

12

highest point
the bird stops
for a rest

13

the soft spot
after baby shampoo
after the drought

14

calm night
crickets bring
the music

15

thousands of steps
lead the way
the big city

16

“world’s deepest fish”
final moments
bathing in sunlight

17

card
declined
it’s money there

18

step after step
the winds blow
I turn around

19

a different
way of learning
outside instruction

20

dip in cool water
my skin
breathes at last

21

moth wings
flutter quietly
cotton

22

sunlight fractals
through the peephole
my soft gasp

23

say geronimo;
the rush of the
waterfall . . . woosh!

24

fallen branch
taken into a room—
a spider dangles
