1

the long road
of rocky mountains
a hawk flies

2

bear catches
red fish
watching from the couch

3

stroke of a brush
through my hair
tingles

4

last catch of the day
hooked a fish
next to my keys

5

a bed
full of clothes
I still rest

6

all in line
each with its own style
moving to the beat

7

fingertips
flutter on keys
music hall

8

soft pillow of sunlit grass
I lay down
my head

9

how about
a dollar for my thoughts
         cha-ching

10

piano recital
second-chance student
taller than the rest

11

I stepped outside
no plans, no reason—
just morning light

12

two topics
eyes jump
from left to right

13

pouring the tea
the steam rises
before I think

14

play house
the mom gives me
a middle name

15

city crosswalk—
my feet already
chose the direction

16

a blinding light
my foot slips
from my turn

17

now that the tree is down
the sun is bright as ever
no bird sound

18

empty video timeline
assets stocked and ready
will have to wait

19

empty bird feeder sways
the last few seeds
crunch a block away

20

a music skip
pushes me
two counts forward

21

world war two map
over the blackboard
won’t roll back up
