Spring 2025 English Haiku

Frost on my window—
memories of Kyoto
warm my frozen hands. |
|
|
a lone streetlight
even the wind
passes without a name |
moonlit rooftops
where my shadow
walks without me |
|
|
I stepped outside
no plans, no reason—
just morning light |
pouring the tea
the steam rises
before I think |
|
|
city crosswalk—
my feet already
chose the direction |
empty elevator
somehow
feels like me |
|
|
summer path—
the dog runs ahead
like he knows the way |
evening light—
he shifts his reel
I copy without asking |
|
|
kite in the sky—
pulled by the wind
and some part of me |
no one talks
he passes me a snack
like always |
|
|
window open
the wind says go
so I go
