Calm Water

by
Conner Cloney

Haiku, the poetry for the imagination. For me, haiku is a way to see images, feel images, and even taste them sometimes too. For me, Haiku gives you an imaginative feeling, haiku puts you in that moment. Conner Cloney, arts technology major, began haiku in 2019, he shows dedication to become better.

heavy wind
toupee flying up
gone forever

a dirty shovel glows after the mist

empty hallway
            muffled voices
late again

honking
the impatient occupant waits
wagging her tail

calm water
sounds of a distant ship horn
               calm water

a morning breeze
sunrise glow
the smell of lavender

driver door ajar . . .
no one knows where
the driver is

afternoon sand
seagulls compete
for a slice of bread

just
your friendly neighborhood
Spiderman

a stream of wind
under the door crack
against my toes

late night
my eyelids grow heavy
swerve
