Crazy Guy Thoughts

My name is Tyvon Johnson and writing haiku for the first time has been a great experience. Haiku has taught me how to visualize what most author are trying to get the reader to see. My inspiration to write haiku was Professor Dr. B. The title of my first collection of haikus are called “Crazy guy thoughts”. I name it that because these haikus were created from the crazy thoughts in my mind.

gun in hand
pulled trigger
lives lost

OPEN THE DOOR
she screams—
tires burning rubber

domestic violence
            blood
cuffed wrist

the garden
she waters
new life

date?—
pedicures?
          my treat

gym shoe feeling
no grip
grandmas slippers

late night
racing home
under street lights

the girl runs
the boy chases
along the beach shore

police shoot
. . . brown skin
mother weeps

fall practice
breezy summer morning
a fresh pair of cleats
