Becoming

by
SheilaJ ackman

My first exposure to haiku occurred many years ago, while in grade school. When I registered for this class, Global Haiku, I had no idea what to expect. Although I am more analytical than artistic, I do enjoy my creative side.

This collection includes what I feel are my best efforts at writing haiku. This course caused me to step out of my comfort zone and to be more touchy-feely. Because of this, I feel I have experienced personal growth. Hopefully, we all find something in life, which helps us in growing and becoming all that we need to be.

I’ll put off
procrastinating

the dying rose

tiny blades of grass
to cover up
what might have been

always a kiss
goodnight
