Selected Haiku
by

Susan Tabor

For only writing haiku for one month, I feel like I have learned so much. However, I know there is much more to learn. I have enjoyed writing and reading haiku. I believe I draw my inspiration from memories of the past and new experiences with my husband. The haiku in this collection are just a glimpse of my favorite memories and experiences.

sand on my feet
cool ocean breeze
he asks the question

cool autumn breeze
along the familiar trail
my mother calling

autumn afternoon
empty farmhouse memories
warming my up

neighborhood children
stare out the window
rain stops

summer night
whispers in the dark
of the day's activities

sisters on the porch
laughing, cackling
into the night

spring rain
Sunday
afternoon

ice cream
hot summer day

crunchy
leaves
cover the earth

cold
wet snow
on my tongue

dandy lions
from my hand to my mother's

the wind blows
season’s change
new life ahead
