pink line of the pregnancy test . . . her valentine
	heartbeat calooshing through the stethoscope, a little kick
off to work kiss . . . her firm belly up against mine

	heartbeat monitor suddenly silent . . . the red faced push
umbilical cord cut free from her neck heart beeps again
	a choked cry-- her purple newborn face pinkens
the rest out it's a, it's a girl!
	she raises her hospital gown-- a thin red slit beneath the belly button
