Haiku Collection

by
Caroline Arnold

Over the course of this class, Global Haiku Traditions, I feel that my haiku have grown so much. I have come to enjoy the art of reading and writing haiku, and look forward to hearing my classmates haiku. I have even began to write haiku in my head when I notice something worth deeper thought. I am thankful I decided to take Global Haiku Traditions, and it is surely an experience I will remember and look back on with a smile. This being said, this collection contains some of my favorite haiku I have written this semester. These haiku are playful, nostalgic, fun, and even clever.

the morning dew
on her shoes
a new beginning

sundog in the clouds
ray of sunshine
a leash

back on the airplance
I dust sand
out of my book

new magnet
one from each city
on the fridge

first day of autumn
she dusts off
her uggs

darkness
the bonfire
runs out of stories

the sounds of summer
driven away
by a school bus

an apple a day
got sick
anyway

it rains
I am reminded
the sun comes out again

quick coffee run
before
getting things done
