Haiku

by
Alexia Finch

My life has been enriched by reading and writing haiku because it has brought me peace and a sense of expressing my thoughts other than just writing in a journal or diary.

eyes wide
presents fill the tree
warm home

hours go by
one sentence done
it’s midnight

check my phone
text from him
blushing smile

singing out loud
the girl dances
in the rain

in the school bathroom
she hides who
she used to be

hospital room
baby cries
in the distance

brisk cold air
legs red
long road ahead

still water
something tugs
on the pole
