Haiku

summer breeze
slushie giving me a brain freeze
summer is my thing

waiting on the storm
heavy air heavier heart
I hope it passes soon

some nights typing
hugs
just don't cut it

like a tree in the wind
I bend so low to the ground
not broken

I have decided
this is as good as it gets
I give up on love

cold running waters
fishing line tangled
in the oak tree shadow

warm soup in a bowl
letters of the alphabet
in the teaspoon

we are all locked in.
outside, corona roams free
free as the wind blows
