Fond Memories

by
Brock Trump

In this collection, I have compiled an array of haiku that brought to mind some of my favorite and most meaningful memories. Each haiku I selected evoked a particular feeling or moment that I hold close, reminding me of people, places, and experiences that have shaped who I am. That is why I chose to title this collection Fond Memories, because every haiku here sparked a sense of nostalgia and emotional connection. As I read through them, I found myself reflecting on my past, thinking of the times that brought me joy, comfort, and growth. I decided to organize the collection into three sections, each representing a different type or theme of haiku. These categories helped me explore the unique emotions and memories each poem stirred within me. While the structure of each haiku is similar, the messages and moods vary, giving each piece its own voice and perspective.

summer is gone
new shoes, new haircut
to start the day

hospital window
a child
draws the sun

heat warning
the pool is open
let's go

tires screeching
car flies by
trust fund baby

laying in bed
one though in my head
never mind
