Memories of Life:
Selected Haiku

by
Cassandra Long

In the beginning I wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I signed up for this haiku class. I was scared that it would be hard and difficult. But it wasn’t either it was fun and created. Haiku makes you think back into your life history. Dr. Randy Brooks taught us how to read, listen and visualize a haiku. I’m very glad that I took the class. I really enjoyed listening to the other class mates’ haiku they created.

Winter snow falls

Winter zero below
home cozy and warm
drinking hot chocolate

Summer hot sizzling
kids running and playing
in water

baby’s
bright eyes laughing
cooing loudly

Winter first snow
kids try making snowman
soft snow

streets are calm
snow shimmers
covered trees
