My Mind's Voice

by
J. Mark Issacs

clown shoes
tripped
got the laugh

to a kid
aqua-farts
never get old

summer sunset
dueling crickets
fiddling around

summer traffic jam
"get by"
on the plates in front of me

old bike
doesn't run
heirloom

Bathroom Ginko

on the throne
I ponder
anything at all

shower steams
in the mirror
I disappear

hot shower
tense muscles relaxing
flush
