Spring Fever Renga

Catch of the Day
by

Brianne Dilbeck

While putting together this collection, many fond memories resurfaced. Family and friends are the most important people in my life. With both my family and friends many memories were made. Each of the included haiku captures memories that I will never forget. With that, the title of this collection, "Catch of the Day" seems fitting. Since each of the haiku is about certain memories that happened throughout my life, I thought that "Catch of the Day" would represent the meanings of each haiku as individuals. Each haiku is special for one specific day, making it the "Catch".

The collection includes only a few of the many memories that I have with my family and friends. However, there is plenty of room for additions. My fondest memories will last a lifetime! I hope you enjoy the colletion. It has definitely come a long way, since I first began writing haiku. —Brianne Dilbeck

A Note to the Author

Having read haiku for the first time, I am quite impressed. As I read through this collection I found myself looking back at my own experiences and relating them to these haiku. I personally liked the haiku "naive child" because I was able to relate to it because I am catholic and went to a catholic school. That haiku brought back many memories of my childhood. Also, I enjoyed the haiku "Valentine's Day". I have seen that happen before, and I actually got my hopes up . . . but they weren't for me. That haiku was funny and at the same time very realistic. I just hope others like your colletion as much as I do. Brianne, you have worked hard on thse haiku, making them enjoyable for both yourself and your readers. Readers, keep an open mind and enjoy! —MJ
