Setting Sun by Brett Coffman The title of my chapbook happens to be part of a haiku that I wrote. The haiku turned out far better then I had originally expected and has become one of my favorites among my work. However, that is not to say that the rest of the haiku I've written didn't turn out good. In this collection are some of the works I have written and have deemed as some of my best. I sincerely hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did in creating them. I'm currently an accounting major. I play video games as a past time. I've come to understand and respect haiku in Mr. Brook's haiku class. My favorite types of haiku are those that involve word play and common, everyday, situations. My favorite haiku author is Miriam Borne.

snow covered house— empty silence broken by my favorite song

sun's warm beams— the flower opens its petals

sunny day staring at my homework a headache ensues

no power . . . my hand guides me to the bathroom

setting sun glistening off the water— soft sand
