Life's Exhaustion

by
Daniel Fishel

This is a collection of haiku about aawkward or frustrating points in life. Have a laugh and enjoy.

Daniel Fishel is a freshman at Millikin University. He is an exploratory studies student from Arcola, Illinois. He plays football at Millikin and participates in a number of intramural sports.

dark cool waves
sand squishes
between my toes

the crowd erupts . . .
juicy hot dog
falls to the ground

completely exhausted
I drive home,
but am still homesick

hand in hand
pacing back to her door—
night is complete

blood, sweat, and tears
I make the cliché
my reality

numb hands
chilled spine—
late-season practice

Touchdown!
but still down
fourteen points . . .
