Moments in Time

Haiku reflects a moment. It stops time for a brief second at a particular image. It is a way for me to freeze frame some of my favorite memories, as well as put some images from my head on paper.

The following haiku are my original haiku from Fall 2001. Each took only a moment in time, but the impressions last forever.

Hair in my face
I watch leaves
dance with the wind

Getting older
ferris wheel not so big
as I remember

Touchdown!
my hands too numb
to cheer

a quiet night
in the warmth of his arms
leaves fall gently on the sill

wandering
through dew soaked grass
hand in hand

First slumber party
my mother's makeup
becomes the dare
