Haiku
by
Marissa Holloway
These haikus explain me, my deepest secrets, fears, and even hopes of the future. Enjoy |
rowdy fans screams
fade into the background
just her and the ball |
just like a hero
his little girl has never seen him
up close
glass screen door
little girl’s handprint
still waits
book finished
nightlight on
door slowly closes
scent of freshly baked cookies
mother and daughter
one ices one one adds sprinkles
two straws
one chocolate vanilla shake
beautiful sunset
two sets of footprints left behind
in the sand
closed eyes
clenched fist
prayer
pearl white heels
rose peddled path
look up
closed door
muffled cries
first day without him
cereal poured
fridge opened . . .
out of milk
broken charger draining the life from me
dodgeball
two kids left
pick me |
