Biographical Background

Michael Dylan Welch was born in 1962 in Watford, England. He began enjoying haiku in high school, where an English teacher taught Welch about haiku. Welch graduated with a communications/media and English major. He received an M.A in English in 1989 where he focused on twentieth-century poetry
and fiction.
