Mind of a Cory

by
Corlyn Davis

I titled my collection “Mind of a Cory” because this summer I allowed myself to truly self reflect. Allowing me to produce genuine and authentic haikus, giving the reader a brief glimpse into the chaotic yet simplistic world that is, the mind of a Cory.

For my collection i wanted to select haikus that put me in calm good mood. Many of the haiku chosen were written while I was relaxing and/or hanging out with my friends, I enjoyed being able to slow down and be in the moment. It really allowed me to capture a sense of tranquility and comfort.

the world revolves
nonstop motion
to never freeze in time

lunchboxes open
laughter fills the busy halls
pages turn with dreams

wheels hum on the road
new horizons call my name
footrprints in the sadn
