I Feel Too Much

by
Riley Cremeens

I think that a lot of my haiku embody who I am as a person and all that I have been through. A lot of the haiku I have written tend to depend upon my most expressed emotions and who I care for the most. At this point in my life, my greatest joys are my sisters, my mother, and my girlfriend. These people have truly set the tone for my most passionate and genuine haiku.

long, black hair
I look at her in awe
the neighbor girl

I will drop
everything for her
my sister’s keeper

she makes
all the colors
look so much brighter

the sun is out
and so am I
happy pride month

our first date
stuttering of words
knots in my stomach

she leaves for work
I can still smell the cologne
on her sheets
