June bugs hammering
the screen door

early morning frost
the unlocked doors

blue sky shattered
paw prints
in sand

smell of green grass
the rain
splashing our feet

after the hike:
tasting the redbuds
of spring

candy and flowers
on the kitchen table
an off-key serenade

doorbell ringing
